A global organisation with a broad operational footprint is seeking a Commercial Accountant to join their finance division. The role forms part of a high-paced environment that manages complex financial activities across multiple regions. You will support financial reporting, month-end close, audit processes, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across various business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close processes in line with accounting standards
- Prepare detailed monthly financial reports and variance analyses
- Review and reconcile internal management reporting
- Support internal teams with financial queries and period-end requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities
- Strengthen financial controls and improve reporting processes
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues through process improvements
- Prepare financial analysis and reports for decision-making
- Assist with automation initiatives to streamline accounting processes
- Review journal entries and ensure accurate system processing
- Contribute to best-practice initiatives across the finance function
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Qualified CA(SA)
- 2-4 years’ post-articles experience
- Strong technical accounting expertise
- ERP experience (SAP advantageous but not essential)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly organised, adaptable and detail-focused
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage expectations effectively
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving capability
