Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. This opportunity is suited to a self-motivated professional with strong commercial and contractual expertise, looking to contribute to a range of construction projects within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly payment certificates, including variations and claims.
- Compile monthly cost reports, cash flows and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable contractual procedures.
- Conduct risk and value management, cost control and financial monitoring.
- Advise on appropriate procurement strategies.
- Monitor adherence to company procedures and project requirements.
- Prepare tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities.
- Manage subcontractor-related commercial and contractual matters.
- Perform financial reporting, cost forecasting and cash management.
- Prepare, evaluate and negotiate variations, extension of time claims and contractual entitlements.
- Allocate work, review deliverables and coach team members to improve performance.
- Consider the implications of health and safety regulations throughout project activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 5 years' relevant experience within the construction or engineering environment.
- Experience working for a medium to large construction company across a range of projects.
- Proven experience using CCS.
- Sound working knowledge of GCC, FIDIC, JBCC and/or NEC contracts.
- Strong commercial, analytical and organisational skills.
- A valid driver's licence and own vehicle will be an added advantage.
