Description/Synopsis:
A boutique tax consulting firm is looking for a driven Tax Compliance Officer to join their expanding team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home 3 days a week while providing hands-on experience with individual tax clients.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and experienced in navigating SARS procedures and tax regulations. You will ensure clients remain fully compliant, manage tax calculations, audits, disputes, and serve as a trusted point of contact for individual tax matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to grow their career with a supportive and collaborative team.
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom degree in Finance or Tax – mandatory
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax compliance, preferably with individual tax clients
- Strong knowledge of SARS procedures and tax regulations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Tax Practitioner certification beneficial but not required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office and tax compliance software
Main Responsibilities:- Prepare and submit Individual Tax and Provisional Tax calculations for clients
- Manage SARS audits, disputes, and complaints efficiently
- Ensure full tax compliance for all clients
- Manage daily email correspondence and maintain the client database
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax queries
- Attend SARS appointments as required
- Provide other related tax services as needed
