The Support Engineer will support and maintain custom applications, taking full ownership of customer-reported issues through to resolution. The role involves proactive system maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration across teams to ensure high service quality.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day application and system support
- Analyse, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues
- Take ownership of incidents and see them through to resolution
- Perform preventative and routine system maintenance
- Monitor systems and processes and identify gaps in monitoring
- Escalate unresolved issues according to defined procedures
- Maintain accurate incident records, reports, and knowledge base updates
- Participate in standby/on-call support and production deployments
- Assist with deployments of new services and system enhancements
- Support root cause analysis and continuous service improvement
- Mentor and assist junior support engineers
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL skills (PL/SQL advantageous)
- Solid Linux experience
- Experience using PL/SQL to retrieve data from Oracle databases
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Knowledge of system monitoring and alerting processes
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
