A well-established company in the East Rand is seeking a Procurement Manager. This is not a traditional hands-on buying role, as purchasing activities are supported by a dedicated buying team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with regional objectives
- Drive procurement process improvements, standardisation and cost-saving initiatives
- Monitor procurement performance and prepare management reports and KPI dashboards
- Analyse procurement data and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement policies and procedures are followed
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, company standards and regulatory requirements
- Identify procurement risks and assist with mitigation strategies
- Support sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives
- Work closely with regional procurement teams on strategic procurement projects
- Maintain procurement documentation, contracts and supplier records
- Assist with procurement planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related qualification
- 5+ years' procurement experience, preferably in a strategic or procurement coordination environment
- Previous experience within a multinational company would be advantageous but is not essential
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, supplier management and procurement compliance
- Experience preparing procurement reports, analysing data and monitoring KPIs
- Excellent administrative, organisational and documentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
