Our client, a leading Chemical Manufacturing company based in Johannesburg, is looking to fill the position of Driver (Hazardous Goods).
Purpose of the Role:
Operating and maintaining transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and customer courtesy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
- Efficient stock loading and offloading.
- Understand and maintain route sheet documentation, dangerous goods documentation, and all customer delivery documentation.
- Report to the Warehouse Manager, return all delivery documentation (POD's, receipts etc) to the Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure any problems with deliveries are discussed with the Warehouse Manager, and late deliveries are timeously reported.
- Hand SRN book to the Warehouse Manager once a week.
- Assist with stock taking as and when required.
- Ensure housekeeping is continuously addressed and that the work area is maintained in an appropriate condition as indicated by management.
Environmental Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance to ISO 9001, ISO14001 and company safety standards.
- Implements and maintains LSS, PSM Policy and the 5's principles.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Hazardous goods transportation licence/certificate
- Code 10 driver's licence essential
- 3 years in a similar position conveying dangerous goods.
