Job Description
The job description may vary slightly depending on the changing needs of the company and the individual. This position requires a skilled individual. Your main job tasks and responsibility will be to:
- Manage an efficient store/warehousing operation through overseeing receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
- Governance of the company procurement policy.
- Manage and monitor inventory by recording and monitoring all inbound and outbound stock. Continuous planning, managing and tracking of stock levels.
- Oversee all capturing of all invoices, receipts and deliveries.
- Report and address discrepancies, late deliveries and slow stock movement.
- Ensure that data of inbound stock is accurately and timeously captured on the system.
- Ensure the safe handling of stock to minimize stock losses.
- Ensure optimised storage layout and capacity.
- Keeping goods secure and accessible, performing warehousing audits where needed.
- Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.
- Conduct quarterly stock takes and match results to inventory tracking system, highlighting discrepancies and stock levels.
- Analyse supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
- Report findings and make suggestion on corrective action.
- Ensure the facilities are clean and neat.
- Ensure that stock is counted regularly and correctly.
- Manage, oversee and support subordinates in carrying out daily tasks.
- Submit and motivate capital/strategic expenses to the Engineering Superintendent.
- Ensure discipline is maintained in the work area (absenteeism, time management, overtime, misconduct (etc.).
- Manage workplace climate.
- Comply with safety, health, security and environmental standards.
Execute any other duties allocated by the Supervisor and/or his/her nominees.
In addition, you are required to be motivated, honest and a keen person.
