Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub for a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Prepare theatre equipment, instruments, and consumables prior to surgery.
- Assist surgeons and the multidisciplinary team throughout operative procedures.
- Ensure accurate instrument counts and maintain theatre safety protocols.
- Monitor and advocate for patient safety throughout the perioperative journey.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with infection prevention and quality standards.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the operating theatre and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Postgraduate qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing will be advantageous.
- Previous scrub experience within an Operating Theatre is essential.
