A well-established engineering business is looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of the finance function while supporting operational activities across the business. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and creating financial stability in a growing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Full Finance Function
- Managing the end-to-end accounting function
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Overseeing month-end and year-end processes
- Managing reconciliations, journals, and general ledger integrity
- Supporting budgeting and cash flow management
- Payroll & HR Administration
- Managing payroll processes and payroll reconciliations
- Supporting HR administration and employee-related financial processes
- Ensuring compliance with statutory payroll requirements
- Financial Clean-Up & Process Improvement
- Reviewing and organising historical financial records
- Identifying and correcting financial discrepancies
- Implementing improved controls, procedures, and record-keeping practices
- Driving operational efficiencies across finance processes
- Leadership & Operations
- Managing and mentoring a small finance team
- Providing support to operational management
- Assisting with business decision-making through financial insight
- Building relationships across the business to improve financial accountability
Job Experience and Skills Required- BCom Accounting, BCompt, or National Diploma in Finance/Accounting
- 5–10 years' accounting experience
- SAICA or SAIPA articles advantageous but not required
- Experience managing the full finance function
- Payroll and HR administration exposure
- Strong operational finance experience
- Previous team management experience advantageous
- Experience on Pastel and Sage Evolution
- Strong Excel skills
