Description/Synopsis:
A boutique tax consulting firm is looking for a motivated Accounting and Tax Administrator to join their growing team. This hybrid role offers flexibility while gaining valuable exposure to tax administration, SARS compliance, company secretarial work, and accounting processes.
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to both the tax and accounting departments, assisting with SARS registrations, eFiling administration, CIPC company secretarial work, and client onboarding processes. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while building practical knowledge of South African tax regulations and compliance procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate (required)
- Relevant administrative or accounting studies advantageous
- Previous administrative experience required
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Professional and client-focused mindset
- Experience with the following systems advantageous:
- SARS eFiling
- Monday.com
- Xero
- Microsoft Office
- OneDrive / Microsoft Teams
Main Responsibilities:Tax Administration- Provide administrative support to the tax department
- Manage SARS eFiling profiles and maintain accurate client records
- Handle income tax registrations and reactivations
- Update RAV01 client details on eFiling
- Add and manage clients on SARS eFiling profiles
- Manage SARS appointments, including client registrations, updates, and query resolutions
- Conduct daily SARS follow-ups to resolve client matters
- Manage SARS complaints and escalation processes, including Tax Ombud complaints
- Assist with SARS registrations and deregistrations (PAYE, VAT, COIDA, UIF, company tax)
Corporate Secretarial (CIPC)- Annual Returns (AR) submissions
- Beneficial Ownership (BO) submissions
- Company registrations and name reservations
- Company amendments (director, name, and address changes)
- Company deregistrations
- Retrieving company documents from CIPC
Client Onboarding & Administration- Assist with new client onboarding processes
- Prepare and send engagement letters
- Assist with fee estimates and client communications
- Maintain organised client folders and document storage on OneDrive
- Update workflows and tasks on [URL Removed] customer codes on Xero for invoicing and timesheets
- Support the accounting team with documentation and internal processes
General Administration- Manage daily email correspondence
- Assist with incoming calls and client queries when required
- Provide additional administrative and compliance support to the tax and accounting teams
