Alistair Group is looking for a highly skilled, hands-on, and experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team at the Kapiri Site. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our fleet and site equipment in support of smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy commercial vehicles and site equipment.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Conduct engine overhauls and major mechanical repairs, particularly on Foton Auman and Sinotruk Howo trucks.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are completed to a high standard and within required timelines.
- Support fleet availability by minimizing downtime through effective fault detection and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment in line with company safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven practical experience working on Foton Auman and Sinotruk Howo heavy vehicles.
- At least Level 4 Craft Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Auto Mechanics or related.
- Strong expertise in engine overhauls for the above truck models.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Solid experience in maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and housekeeping.
- Ability to work independently in a demanding site environment.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
