i. Core Responsibilities and Job Content:
- Document Preparation and Review:
Prepare and review import/export customs clearance documents such as customs declarations, packing lists, commercial invoices, and contracts, ensuring consistency between documents and records.
Conduct electronic declarations through the International Trade Single Window, coordinate customs inspections, assist in resolving inspection issues, and complete cargo release.
Accurately estimate and control tariffs and value-added tax and provide HS code classification suggestions. Apply for relevant import licenses and other customs clearance certificates.
Track domestic and international shipment progress, liaise with overseas agents and shipping companies, and ensure smooth logistics and customs clearance.
ii. Job Requirements:
- Familiar with customs laws and regulations of Zambia and neighboring countries, international trade terms (such as CIF), and customs declaration procedures.
- Excellent document processing skills.
Over three years of relevant customs clearance experience, familiar with sea/land customs clearance procedures.
